Questions & Answers

(We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions we've recieved from brides and grooms recently. If you have a question, please ask!)

Why have a wedding video?

We think the best answer to this question comes from Kara & Tom, a couple whose wedding we shot in August of 2004. For their take on the subject, go to the bottom of the page.

Simply put: there's so much going on during the day that you just won't remember anything -- this is something our videographer Karen learned firsthand during her September 2005 wedding! The cake, the gown, the decorations, the flowers, your guests -- gone by morning, secured forever in digital video. Your soft, gentle vows to one another, caught just as they were spoken. The wide smiles on your faces, as you sweep down the aisle together toward your future. The romance, the love between you as you step onto the floor for your first dance.

Pictures can’t recreate these precious memories -- but your wedding video can, and will!

A video from Capital Videography will be no less than the story of your wedding, unfolding right before your eyes -- every detail intact. Since 1985, we’ve been striving for perfection, continually developing ways to make our work better and more creative. We want to make your wedding day look magnificent -- we want to create a wedding video that will become one of your most priceless treasures.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use digital 3-chip cameras which capture true-to-life color, clarity and detail. In our editing studio, we use sophisticated digital technology to masterfully piece together your day, providing polished, professional results you just can’t get from a regular camcorder.

Although good equipment is vitally important, it is what we are able to do with this equipment that sets us apart from the crowd. We’re committed to pouring our heart and soul into every video we produce—dedicated to creating a work of art that you will be proud of.

Will you distract our guests during the ceremony or reception?

Absolutely not! Our clients often tell us that we were so unobtrusive they hardly knew we were at the wedding! Our ability to stay unseen and still get fantastic shots is something we’ve been proud of since 1985.

How do your prices compare with other videographers?

Our packages currently range from $1400 to $2200, which we have found to be a very fair price. In metro areas such as New York, L.A., and Chicago, videos such as ours are priced nearer to $2500-$6000.

How long will you spend on our wedding video?

Our videographers spend from six to ten hours at the wedding itself, not including the bride's prep, if you choose that option. Once we bring the raw footage back to the studio, we spend as much time as it takes turning that footage into something you'll watch for years to come.

Can I afford you?

In order to bring our services within price range of most brides, we’ve created several packages to serve your individual needs. We’re not the cheapest videographer in the area—nor the most expensive. If you place a premium on excellence, you’ll love us.

Kara and Tom's letter

Hi Rich!

You guys filmed our wedding a little over a year ago, and we still can't get enough of the video - it's just amazing. Everyone asks to see it, and they are always asking me the name of the second song in the highlights part.I'm guessing its something like "I will be there", but who sings it? It is a great song.

The video is so much more than we ever hoped for. There are so many things that we missed that day, either while greeting guests or while having pictures taken. EVERYTHING is in the video!! There are so many funny things that went on that we never would have seen if it weren't for you guys. Having more than one videographer was great, because it enabled you to get everything. We watched the video on our one year anniversary, and it completely brought us back to that day. Everything was captured so perfectly, and arranged so nicely with video effects and music. The professionalism was above and beyond what we expected. The funniest part to us was that when we first saw the video, we couldn't believe how much "footage" you had, because we felt like we never even saw you guys there!!!But you obviously were there, getting every detail! Everyone's favorite part is the "highlights" set to music. It's nice especially when we show it to people who don't want to watch the whole video, but they feel as though they've seen it all! Also, we loved the part when we are being photographed following the ceremony on the altar, where you set it in slow motion to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" - it gives us chills and it so sentimental.During the highlights part, where you can hear us exchanging vows, is also one of our favorites!! Our friends cannot believe how great our video is,especially compared to theirs! They are always telling us that this is not what most videos are like - and that it is just like a professional movie! Also, the fact that you stayed until the end was wonderful. That's when all of the craziness began, and you got it all! Even Tom and his cousin Tim dancing to Soul Man - it's never been caught on tape, but now I hold the evidence!!!

There are so many "great parts", I could go on and on. You guys are just amazing. I will recommend you to everyone (and already have been!!) We will treasure our video forever. Thank you so much for all you have done for us and our families in preserving our special day!

Love,

Kara and Tom
